So what is so great about digital book readers?  Digital book readersare now moving from simply being a new toy that gadget freaks want and into the wider world. So what will make you look for a digital book reader? What gains does an ebook reader get you?

The printed book has been our choosen medium for reading for centuries, enormous libraries exist with books bringing a worth and feel (literally) uniquely it’s own So for digital book readers to overcome this place in our society they are going to have to give some great benefits.

What benefits can digital book readers bring to users that they don’t get with a physical book?

• The first is ease of transport. While a digital book reader takes up roughly the same size as a physical it can in fact hold tens of hundreds of books inside. This means that when you are on the move there isn’t any need to take half a suitcase worth of books, just a book sized digital reader
• Instantaneous downloads. Books are hard copy, they need to be picked up from shops or posted which means waiting or go collect it.  Ebooks (Electronic Books)of digital book readers are instantly available for download, meaning you can start to enjoy your book straight away.
• Storage space. Being an avid book reader it can be difficult to find space for all the books that you own.  Many such people end up having to give their books away.  Wouldn’t it be preferable to instead be able to store some of your books on a small little device like a memory card? That is what an eBook can offer you.No more need for vast storage areas,or giving away books you may want to keep,just an easy to access and store system that takes up next to no space.
• Price. Whilst a digital book reader can seem pricey the greatly lower price of ebooks v traditional books mean that if you are getting books on a frequent, or even semi frequent, basis then you will find it so much cheaper.
• Wear and tear.  Books suffer from degradation.Folding pages,yellowing, water damage, rips etc are something that anyone who owns a book is aware of. With an eBook though they will never suffer these issues as they are stored in digital form While it is possible for the digital book reader to suffer damage(though they are strong gadgets) your ebook library will be unharmed, and can be transferred to a new book reader if needed.

These are some of the reasons that most people enjoy owning a digital book reader.  Other reasons exist and their importance will be different to you and a friend. It should be noted that at this point digital reader manufacturers and eBook publishers are not suggesting eBooks as something to take over completely from traditional books, just an additional interest that will benefit those that like to read.
